I was born in Brooklyn and always loved the art of cutting & pasting. Decoupaging lunchboxes and tie-dyeing were some of the in fads then. Through the years I kept exploring all types of crafts. Knitting, gardening, painting and collage classes… eventually Falling head over heels in love with Mosaic…When I discovered a goldmine in Venice at the Orsoni Smalti factory the magical colorful glass, I became obsessed!
This led to over 10 years of producing handmade custom tables, furniture and mural installations.
Fast Forward: Although fortuitous in my mosaic business , the love for frequent travel kept calling my name.
My artistic passion led me to acrylic painting and I began incorporating many different art forms into mixed media.
Not being limited to one particular medium I am able to stretch my imagination without restraint. Passionate for experimenting I get to incorporate hand-made papers, graphic elements and varied 3-D objects into my art pieces. When each idea manifests into it’s own individual style a fusion of thoughts and ideas occur resulting in one of a kind original pieces.
When I am in my Art Studio I mostly draw on the inspiration from exotic travels, fashion, nature and music … recently I began to accumulate material from current event situations that surround me in my everyday life.
I Enjoy observing other cultures and their ways of life… What excites my senses? Exotic venues! Many of my works have Asian inspirations. Beautiful sights such as Hong Kong Harbor, the Great Wall in Beijing, Shanghai & Hanoi, Vietnam, Bangkok & Phuket, Thailand are among my favorites. Europe & Africa have no shortage of beauty. The magic of Venice & romance of Paris. The Gaudi Mosaics in Barcelona or the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul Turkey, the islands of Mykonos & Capri and of course the Pyramids of Egypt.
The Americas have their own style and so do the paintings that reflect these places. From Buenos Aires & Sao Paolo, or the Beaches of Mexico to the Glaciers in Alaska. From the Shores of St Maarten & St Barths to the time travel of Cuba.
Inspiration is In Everything
Colors are Everywhere
I want to be there to capture it all!
